Meet Tara
Therapist, Supervisor, Author, Trainer
I have been working therapeutically with children, young people, and their families for over 15 years. My practice is grounded in helping families navigate the challenges of growth and change, offering tailored support to meet the unique needs of each individual and their circumstances.

My approach empowers not only parents but also directly supports children and young people. I work collaboratively with families to create meaningful and lasting transformations. Whether through individual sessions with children, family consultations, or guiding parents to become agents of change, my goal is to foster resilience, understanding, and connection.

Parenting, while rewarding, can also be incredibly challenging. There is an overwhelming amount of conflicting advice, and everyone seems to have an opinion on what we should be doing. As children grow, their needs evolve, often rendering previously successful strategies ineffective. Unforeseen circumstances arise, creating uncertainty and confusion. The most important thing to remember is that there is no such thing as the perfect parent, flawless child, or ideal family.

Too often, parents carry feelings of blame and shame when their child’s behaviour communicates underlying struggles. New strategies may be tried, consequences applied, and approaches adjusted, yet nothing seems to make a difference. This can lead to frustration and a sense of helplessness.

In my work, I draw upon my dual experience as a child therapist and adult psychotherapist. My academic background in child development, attachment theory, and neurobiology informs my holistic approach. This allows me to support families on multiple levels, helping parents, children, and young people build stronger relationships, address challenges, and embrace positive change together.

Whether you are seeking guidance for parenting, therapeutic support for your child, or a comprehensive approach that brings the whole family into focus, I am here to help.
